9th Annual APA Community Holiday Toy Drive and Reception

Tonight my friend Mike and I went to the Japanese National Museum for a Holiday party and Toy Drive hosted by several prominent Asian Law Associations. I arrived too late to try any of the food, but I was able to catch the end of the live jazz music, a few drinks, and the awards ceremony. They honored all the different organizations there, included TALA, APEX, and JABA.

Councilwoman Jan Perry was also there as a guest speaker, and the highlight of the event was Far East Movement performing with DJ Verman (Power 106) mixing for them. It was an awkward scene, men and women lawyers in their dress suits listening to 3 young Asian rappers in hip hop clothes telling them to "hammer the air with their fists!!" but I had a good time. =)

I got Far East Movement’s promo CD for their new song Low Rider and took a picture with the group. They are so talented and just have so much positive energy, I really admire that about them. I also took a picture with Ms. Taiwan World, she was just recently crowned and very nice to talk to.

Afterwards, we walked down the street to the famous ramen shop, Daikokuya and ate way too much food for the rest of the night.
